The Brother GTXpro garment printer is renowned for its versatility and exceptional print quality, but what sets it apart from other printers is its ability to handle uneven surfaces with ease. In this article, we put this feature to the test by printing on the pocket areas of denim jeans, exploring how well it performs on these challenging surfaces.

What makes the Brother GTXpro effective on Jean Pockets's uneven surfaces?

Among the various garment printers we offer, Brother’s GTXpro stands out due to its fast printing speed and vibrant, detailed output.

The GTXpro is equipped with a 10mm height gap between the platen and the print head. This design, coupled with a specially engineered print head, allows for vigorous ink expulsion, enabling the printer to tackle challenging areas such as pocket seams and zippers on hoodies. The ink's slightly viscous quality, similar to that used in silk screen printing, ensures it adheres well and resists cracking even when the fabric is stretched post-printing.

Printing Process

Given that our design extends slightly beyond the pocket area, precise alignment was key. We successfully centered the pocket and proceeded with printing. The process involved laying down a white base layer followed by color layers, with the total printing time being approximately one minute.

Post printing, we used the automatic press machine to dry and set the ink. The press head was adjusted to fit the jeans, and a rubber mat was used to ensure even heat distribution.

Results of Printing on Pocket Seams

We tested the GTXpro on the pocket areas of jeans, and the results were impressive. The print, featuring vibrant colors including white, red, yellow, and blue, appeared clear and vivid on the dark denim. The ink adhered smoothly, producing a finish comparable to silk screen printing, and is ready for retail.

Close-Up of Uneven Areas

A closer look at the pocket seams and the pocket’s entry area revealed that the ink adhered perfectly without any misalignment or fading on the uneven surfaces.

Summary of GTXpro's Performance

The GTXpro demonstrated its ability to handle printing on denim pockets, including seams and uneven areas, with outstanding results. The ink remained durable and intact, even after rubbing, indicating excellent resistance to washing and everyday wear.

The Brother GTXpro garment printer is not only versatile for printing on jeans but also effective on other uneven surfaces such as hoodie zippers. It comes with optional platens for t-shirts, pants, shoes, and hats, significantly expanding its printing capabilities. Additionally, it supports DTF printing, which allows for precise designs without pre-treatment.
